AMEX CLI

I have a question...

Ok so, I have the BCE and have been reading about the 61 day CLI. I will be eligible to apply for the increase tomorrow. But I am thinking of waiting until next month BECAUSE...

My credit limit is $2k. My balance as of today is $1,720. I plan on making a payment of $1500 next month (december).

Should I wait until I make this payment and then request the increase or just request it tomorrow with the balance?

Re: AMEX CLI

Get that Util down as low as you can before requesting your increase so wait til next month, as that will torpedo you (see the 3x CLI thread if you want previous examples).

i just got approved for my 3x CLI today. from $1,000 to $3,000 and my total util on my credit report is at 16%, but on AMEX, i recently made a large purchase and had a $800 balance on my $1,000 limit card, which isnt reporting on my credit yet since the statmente hasnt cut. I've had the card since Sept. and have made only two payments, one of $100 and one of $300. So i was shocked that they approved me my 3x CLI while I had a $800 outstanding balance with them and was close to maxing out the card. But I have had a Green card with them since March but the highest balance i've had on that card was $850.
