What exactly are you doing for the CLI?  Are you trying to request online or over the phone.  My suggestion is to call and speak to a csr if you are unable to request online.

Re: AMEX CLI

I use it pretty well... Maybe that's it they don't want you to use it? I hit the Luv button and got the 7-10 day message and I know what that means Smiley Sad

Hm. I hope I don't get the same situation as you. I plan to make that card a priority for all my purchases and payments.

Re: AMEX CLI

Whoa Nelly. I am not sure why everyone thinks the moment they get an Amex we are entitled to such high limits. We need to be happy they are as generous as they are...

Amex likes to see consistent spending w/ equally consistent high payments. Additionally, they do soft pulls and check your other CC's- so my blunt question to you is

are all your other CC's in order?
what are your utils?
are they all under 10%?
are you maxed out?
do you have other CC's?
what was your history like before?
do  you have open collections or recent BK?

Sorry for being so blunt...but give them time to get to know you and believe me, some people on this board would be very happy w/ 1500 limit.

All things come in due time...be patient w/ Amex and you will be rewarded.

Thank god I got rid of the debt amount on my other CCs. Maybe that also factored in to their decision of approving me. heh. I don't know how I will feel once I get the card. It's gonna be great once I be able to swipe it for the very first time! ha.

Only two months?

Pul-ease. I think you are putting the apple cart waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy before the horse.

My suggestions-

1. Be happy you are an Amex card holder.
2. Do like I said earlier. Consistent spending, w/ consistent high payments. NEVER make the minimum- I verified over the phone w/ a CSR they do not like minimum payments.
3. Give if four to six mos. Then app. for a CLI though the website- but I always like talking to them on the phone.
