I only have one right now but still plan to get another one when I can. I was just so afraid of getting turned down when I submitted another app on the same day (it was for the Amex Everyday card) that I cancelled that app. Kinda wish I hadn't done that but with the possibility of a 3x CLI coming up soon, I guess I should still be pretty happy.
Guess people do it for status lol.
Their Charge cards are the easiest to qualify for and the requirement is the same for all of them.
There's no difference in criteria for the Green, Gold or Platinum. These days, the main appeal for Charge cards are the NPSL and unique benefits. For instance, with a Charge card, you can easily ramp up to charging $10K per month, but would otherwise take much longer (especially those new to credit) for static lines to reach. Only Charge cards have Event Ticket Protection, free roadside assitance (up to a certain point) and the Platinum with $10,000 limit on warranty protection.
While the revolvers have similar beneifts, their perks are often less robust than the ones on the Charge cards.
*Edited* PS - Bus Platinum has complimentary basic access to worldwide Regus offices, which is a nice perk.

This is the reason why I'm finding it difficult to cancel my PRG at AF time. For most people that don't utilize their CL then having NPSL is like not having it. Thus there's no incentive and no ryme or reason for having NPSL. In that case the AF makes NPSL a great needless spending.
However for people that do in fact utilize NPSL then the PRG becomes very useful. For example last month I used up $10,000 of my NPSL benefit and let the balance report then PIF. Perhaps in an auto approval app such a credit behavior will mean little or nothing. HOwever my contention is that in a manual review or recon, having a highest limit reporting and showing ability to pay back should add confidence to any UW with average credit analysis skills.
Perhaps instead of begging for CL increases every month and having nothing to show for, having a NPSL can be used as proof on RECON that one has the ability to pay off his desired credit.
Just a thought.
