AMEX Charge Card Dropped FICO 8 Score...Why?

I won't get into too many details (unless the larger picture is needed), however I utilize the credit monitoring service through MyFICO and after reporting balances of $0 on two AMEX NPSL Charge cards (highest balance ever reported of $3500) my FICO 8 across all three CRA's dropped significantly (9-14 points). I am aware that the drop in score was tied directly to the balance change in AMEX through the MyFico alert.

First, why did the decreas? Secondly, should I let a balance of roughly $7,500 report this month, or should I pay this down to $0 or at least pay it down to its highest reported balance of $3500?

Simple confused about the drop in score and what I do to get those points back.

Do you have any other credit cards that reported a balance -- even $5?

FICO will penalize you if all of your revolving cards report a $0 balance.  You can just let one card report $5 and you will be fine.

Is this the first time the AMEX NPSL's reported?  If so, it could be a drop in AAoA accounting for the score change...

Not the first time the AMEX cards have reported. I just thought reporting $0 would not affect me negatively; as I was under the impression AMEX NPSL cards aren't factored into utilization?
