AMEX Credit Line re-allocatio - UPDATE from Amex

Queston for you guys that did a Credit line reallocation with Amex before.. My ED card hit 13 months a few days ago being my donor card and my HHonors is over 13 months as well.. I know donor has to be 13 months old and receiver card has to be two months old so pass both of those scenario.. Ok to the question.

People that have done this, was it a HP or a SP?  I just spoke with them and they couldn't gurantee what it would be.

Was it instant for you that have done it or not?  I was talking to Amex Platinume rep and said 5-7 days I would get a notice in the mail whether they were able to complete it..  I asked him if it was declined he said NO, but kinda weird that it wouldnt be instant.. He said it had to be manually reviewed for this sort of thing.. Or was he full of hot air?

Just wondering if to expect a HP and if instant or not for others that have one this with amex.  Just asked to move 4k from ED card to HHonors.

Thanks

UPDATE 02/18/2015

So getting no where on this as I have tried the 16th when my account actually hit 13 months and today again and got in progress 7-10 message..  Long story short I thought it was 13 statements so my 13th statement cut on the 13th so tried on the 14th I believe for a Re-Allocation and went into in-progress leading to this thread..  Anyways after many call getting no where I finally hoped on chat today and she stated it was declined for trying to early and my other requests were declined as well even after the 13 months has been full-filled due to they have a rule even though it was to early to request it you must wait TWO MONTH prior to trying to re-allocate your credit line again kinda like a CLI (although this is 90 days) of a failure..  Although I tried before it was eligible I must wait 60 days before it will go through.. Not happy with Amex at all with regards to this, but I said it is what it is and the HHonors card will remain in the SD until it has a more useable limit..  She apologized.  IMO they shouldn't allow you to try prior to the "true" 13 months vs 13 statement months and hold that against you as their rules aren't to clear in this area.  Just for others that are interested as not many data points at all on this process.

Most likely SP, I have done twice in the past 2 years between my TE and BCE. Both the time TE is the donor and i didnt see any HP with EXP.

Its instant for me, both the times i called the number in the back of bce and the rep was able to done that in the phone and said it will reflect in 15 mins and when i logged in after the call i was able to see the new credit limit in both the cards.

I tried 5k 1st time and 9k second time, so 4k should not be a problem. Good luck

Thanks

Was this a HP for you?  I tried over phone, but found out there is also an online form to do it after doing a bit of googling, which I would of used the online form.. After some additional reading some people are insta reallocated and some aren't it appears..  Not looking good IMO to me.. Will check application status link I guess.. Praying it wasn't a HP

Thanks.. Guessing it is a denial or I did it a few days to early.. My 13th statement cut yesterday on my ED card...  Guessing a denial for whatever reason.

This I wish I knew...  Dont feel like pulling a report atm to see if a HP has happened yet... I already used my CCT pull for the today, so will have to wait until tomorrow to see if I incurred a HP.

Re: AMEX Credit Line re-allocation question

Ah bummer CC.  Well Its still up in the air.

I always thought in my mind it was 13/2 months and it was as easy to do as Chase.  I guess not!  This will be a great thread and learning experience, cant wait for the results.  I have to sit down and crunch the numbers here this summer and figure out what to do.

In the back of my mind I am hoping that they come out with some new cards...  but I am thinking with some inquiries dropping off it would not be such a bad idea to app for the EDP in hopes of a bonus, and cancel the PRG. If there is no 25k bonus I will just upgrade.  I would have to be sure to use the EDP the full 30 swipes to compensate for loss of 2x MRs at dining.
