Have you tried, check spending ability. Go online and click on credit management. You'll see it there.Spending ability has nothing do with a revolver. Which delta is. You hard limit is your maximum spend. Be it 1k or 20k. That's for charge cards. Like green gold or plat. Although you can play with it. It will n very go beyond you hard limit. They tried already for increase and was denied.
My Delta Amex spending ability is over 3x my credit limit. So this is information is pretty false.

Thanks for weighing in folks. This is a work trip so I will just go ahead and use my company credit card for the purchase. Trying to use the AMEX is just too much of a hassle and I need to buy the ticket now. Probably won't keep this card long term if they won't let it grow.
Well wait a minute. Just use your checking account's bill pay feature and send the cost of the ticket to your delta card. Problem solved.... That is always a quick way to circumvent a low limit card. That way you will get extra miles!!!!!!!!!!!

^Everyone's profile is different though.
Yes, but that has nothing to do with what I said. He claimed that ONLY charge cards had a flexible limit, which isn't true.

This is exactly what I would do, that way you're not subjected to the limitations of Amex's bill pay system, and can pay as much over as you need.
Of course if it's a business trip the OP might not want to tie up personal cash to do this, especially if he/she was depending on the company reimbursement to pay off the bill.

Thanks for that tip guys but I definitely don't want to have to wait to be reimbursed for that amount of cash. I'll still earn frequent flyer miles on the purchase just not the double miles unfortunately. But I'm realizing the Delta AMEX is going to be a bit useless to me going forward. The sign up bonus was great but airline tickets cost too much these days to be handicapped by a small limit. Definitely not worth paying a $95 annual fee for me. I'll keep it for the rest of the year and move on the the next big thing.
