I have recently been approved for two AMEX cards. MSD was not reflecting my correct MSD 97. Through chat, CSR verified it I think. She then stated that she has submitted a request for a replacement card with a corrected or (backdated) MSD. I now have few questions;
I have ED card yet to come in the mail, is it possible that my ED card is going to have backdated MSD?
PRG was rushed overnight but why not ED?
How long it takes for them to correct it, as online I still dont see a corrected MSD?
My gratitudes for any feedback.
It's my understanding that their charge cards usually get priority shipping, as well as replacement cards for people who are current members. (I could be wrong).
The ED probably will not be backdated, unless it was printed after your change went through.
That your MSD online isn't updated is kind of worrisome. Maybe put a call in and get it all straightened out? I know that when I first saw my incorrect MSD date (2015), I went to online CSR and she put a request in for the date to be changed and said it usually takes 1-2 weeks. I placed a phone call the next day and the CSR handled it immediately and my online account showed "Member Since '04" approximately 20 minutes later. The next business day, I was email notified about a replacement card being shipped.

The PRG will not have the correct date on there, and the ED may or may not depending on if it's already printed. The MSD correction could take up to 10 business days however usually within anywhere from 1 hour to 3 days from what people stated. Mine was corrected fairly quick, within a matter of hours the online date reflected the correction. Once the corrections have been done you will get an email about card replacement.

+1
I just had my application approved for AMEX Delta and the MSD on the website said 2015, but after chatting with a rep, he said he was updating it. Just checked back on the website and it says '96 there now. He also confirmed that the new card will be sent with the initial '15 date but I will receive an updated card right behind it with the '96.
Thanks everyone.
PRG account now shows MSD 1998. I just received an electronic confirmation that a PRG replacement card request has been processed.
When I initially set up the online account right after approval, I could not get Card number for ED. In order to add it to PRG online account, it was asking for Card number and four digits. It also said that I cannot add this card to PRG account( could be something). So I ended up creating a seperate account for ED.
Now that PRG has been backdated and shows 1998, ED online account still shows 2015. I thought it would automatically switchover to 1998. Through the chat, I have inquired about it and CSR said once I get the actual card, It can get changed fairly easy. He also stated that ED has not been shipped out yet but he did not elborate if ED will get changed automatically knowing that it has not been shipped out yet.
right after i got approved with amex green and blue cash, I could see the last 5 digits of each card, so I got on chat and asked to submit a request to change MSD to 04 on both cards. and I could see on both cards that MSD changed to 04.
Not sure if both of my cards will have MS 04 on it, I'll find out once I get my card which would be tomorrow or so, they're sending green card overnight because I messed up the address when I was applying for the card (but not blue cash, thank god), anyway if I receive a card and it doesn't have MS 04, then I just have to request new cards.

Congrats on your approval and Thank you. I actually did three for 1 HP. BSF has a five day meesage- had to call in for verification. It is strange though PRG online is 1998 but ED is not even though both belong to same primary account holder.
I actually missed that moment when it asked if I need ED card number. I did get for PRG though.
Hopefully it will all be good for you.
three aps for one hp? hmmm.... should I...? no! no! i can't risk it, they only gave me 1k for bce anyway, i don't want them to go "she got lucky with 1k limit, now she's pushing it! screw it, close her accounts!"
for some weird reason, the customer rep wanted to know both of my new cards' last 5 digits, so I guess when you receive your card (or see it from the account page) let the customer rep know that you want that card MSD changed as well.
I realized that soon after that I pushed it too far by apping three for one HP but strategy was C>R>R. I will wait until I have the actual ED card to go and web chat. It is much more easier to fix through them than call. I will update you once I get the update.
I wouldn't worry too much about what's printed on the card. It's the online MSD and the open date reported to the CRA's that really matter.
