Re: AMEX PLATINUM down to GOLD - LOSE ELITE STATUSES WHEN?

Congrats on getting an offer, they must really want people to keep said card.

My upgrade offer is back up to the full 60K today when i logged in, last week they had lowered it to 20K from the previous 60K offer.

I now assume that I will lose elite status immediately.  I had a bad experience a few years ago when I downgraded my Chase United Club Visa to the Chase United Explorer Visa.  I assumed it would take them a month or two to cancel my United Club Membership, but, nope, they did it immediately, and I was turned away at the door of the club only a couple of weeks after downgrading.  "This membership card is no longer valid.  Did you close a credit card or something?"

Daily Carry: PenFed Power Cash • NFCU Flagship • NFCU More Rewards • Chase Freedom
Sock Drawer: PenFed Promise • NFCU cashRewards • Chase Sapphire Preferred • Chase Freedom Unlimited • United Explorer • UNFCU Azure

Well now I won’t have to worry about that for at least a year and a a half.

Congratulations on the retention offer. What'd they offer you and what was your spend on the card if you don't mind me asking?

Not comfortable posting that publicly (ie anything that resembles bragging/gloating about the offer).

<Mod edit, need to move on.  --UB> Happy to discuss privately if you DM.
