Re: AMEX PLATIUM: no need to check spending power?

I don't know the answer, but it seems counterintuitive being the "check spending power" link is still right there. Maybe it means you're good to go up to the scribbled over amount, but you can still check to see if you can go above that with the link.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: AMEX PLATIUM: no need to check spending power?

Maybe that only shows for charge cards which have a limit applied ?   My account shows "No Preset Spending Limit"

Also weren't you approved for an AMEX Gold card ?   How did you end up with Platinum ?

Still haven't gotten a charge card. They'd pull my credit again and I don't need that or the high fees or anything. None of their charge cards cover anything I do as well as the credit cards do.

But that screen shot shows an available to spend thing on a charge card. Doesn't AmEx penalize you for having a spending limit on a charge card?

That card is limited. That's the spot it would normally say "No Present Spending Limit"

So you were approved for Gold in May, then you upgraded to Platinum, now you're going to downgrade back to Gold ?
