AMEX PRG (Extended Payment Option Interest Rate Reduction)

Hi All,

I will be carrying a balance on my AMEX PRG card for about 2 months.  Out of curiosity, has anyone ever received an interest rate reduction on their pay-over-time/extended payment option rate?  My is 18.24%

I wasn't certain if this is a standard rate considering technically the card is a charge card or if it is possible to request a lower rate.

18.24% variable is a standard rate most cardmembers have (unless they have an older card that may be grandfathered at a slightly lower rate - I'm personally at 14.24%, for example). Pay Over Time Standard APR's cannot be lowered like the lending cards, but you may, on occasion, be offered a promotional APR for Pay Over Time. You would need to call customer service to inquire as to whether there's an offer on your account.
