Hey everyone. I know with the Platinum you have to choose an airline in advance. Question is, which one is best. I'm not a huge flyer since trashcanistan, but want to start traveling more. It seems like a lot of airlines took away the tv's in the headrest. It seems like Delta or Jet Blue have them still.
Any airlines that benefit the platinum more.
Forgive my ignorance. TIA
It really depends upon which airlines provide the best service where you live. For example, if you live in Atlanta or Detroit, choose Delta. If you live in Dallas, choose American. If Denver, choose United.
Thank you for the response. I gotcha. I'd be flying out of Tampa 99.99% of the time.
For me, I'm near Jackson-Hartsfield (ATL), so Delta was the obvious choice. Perhaps you can narrow down based on which airline has their hub at the airport closest to you. Or, if there is a particular destination you will fly to most frequently, and THAT airport is the hub for a particular airline, you might select them.

Sorry, just saw this response... So I'm guessing you'll focus on one of the majors that serve Tampa.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Again, forgive my ignorance, but where do I find if they are a hub at my airport?
Don't quote me, but I believe currently Southwest is Tampa International's biggest carrier followed closely by American Airlines.
Another thing to consider is that with the Plat ard you also get free admission to Delta Skyclubs if you are flying Delta. Amex also reimburses you for $200 in Delta giftcards as well. For those alone that is worth me choosing and flying Delta as long as Delta has decent presence in Tampa.
Delta has a decent presence at both TPA and MCO, but they won't have a lot of direct flights to places other than primary or secondary hubs. The Sky Club benefit can be very beneficial! Southwest may be a really good option, also, unless you want to fly trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific. I'd look at places where you might want to go and look at routing and prices to decide who's best for your individual situation.
I sell am in the airline ticket industry - so as far as a hub - Tampa is not a major hub for United/AA or Delta. So the question should really be is where do you want to travel to? If would like to save/earn points/miles to get an international ticket - go for United Airlines. If you are traveling domestically - I would favor Southwest.
