No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
It's in the setting under you card benefits, you set it to the Airline you plan to use.
Edit: Though I'm not sure which ones allow GC purchase to code as under misc, so that Amex will pay it.
Others may know. It's likely YMMV situaton.

Does anybody know which other airlines allow this transaction of GC’s to be reimbursed?
Pretty much American Airlines, Delta, SW, and I believe Alaska Airlines are the only ones afaik. A lot of airlines don't sell gift cards. For more information, I highly recommend visiting FlyerTalk's forum on American Express Membership Rewards for up to date info on what gift cards are being reimbursed. There are dedicated threads for the various airlines mentioned above. Also as @Anonymous mentioned above, you must select the airline for which you want the credit applied to before buying the gift cards.
AA for sure in my personal experience.
Delta was good for me. 4-$50 gift cards and was reimbursed just 3 days after the purchase. This was about a month ago. I tried Alaska earlier this year but was not reimbursed.
