Looks like BOS has Clear at Terminal A, which I hardly ever use, but I guess if I got the new Plat I would start using Delta to make sure I got value for money, even if I have to change my intended destination!

Yes, but only at Terminal A, to the left of the TSA checkpoint. That's great if you fly Delta (or Westjet) but if you're one of the ~85% of passengers that aren't you're SOL.
To me, Equinox is the ultimate in bad reward credits.
There is not an Equinox in my state, which is a top 10 state with a vibrant economy. There is also not one in any of the four states that share a border with my state. The same is true over huge expanses of the country. Why not $25/month for any health club? Or at least pick two or three chains to cover most areas.
Again, not that I'd join even if one was convenient to me, just wondering what they were thinking with this.

I think they're banking on people using the digital app component to work out at home. Chase offers the Peloton equivalent with the CSP/CSR and apparently it was a big hit during the pandemic.

Wait what?? Tell me that's not true!

It is.
Apparently update on DoC believes it still to be separate products based on data gathered from users. Still developing story and perhaps YMMV
Realistically you still get your value out of the card, 200$ uber if that's useful for you, 100 Saks, 200 airline is already 500, if you travel and or go to sports games and use clear that's another 179 so you're at 679 just short of the AF.... say you don't qualify for global entry so 17$ for TSA precheck and you've at least broken even while earning 5x on airfare and hotels (I wish you could book hotels direct for 5x too...) 200 hotel credit if you do stay at their hotels, plus priority pass and centurion access and you've more than made up for the AF, while not the best value, at least you're earning points without it costing you anything...
For me? I don't use uber or uber eats so there goes uber credit, I like to book direct with hotels usually since it's just easier so hotel credit and 5x is out the door, tsa precheck and clear? Those are usefull, but I've never really had a "long" line when flying.... max maybe 5mins, like hey it's great that it's there but I can live without it with no problems... 200$ airline credit? Unless gift cards will trigger it which I'm hearing is hit or miss, I get everything included with my flight since I typically fly first or at least business so I don't need to buy food or extra bags and that applies for my wife as well. So that being said I don't really need the lounge access either. I'm sure I could find a use for the Saks credit lol but most of these credits are a "cool if it's there and fine if it's not" sort of thing, so it sort of feels like I'm buying things I didn't really need I the first place 😅. I suppose everyone's mileage will vary, but personally I could justify the previous AF for the special events and stuff even if I wasn't breaking even on the fee (a reason I'm considering canceling my gold card too since I just don't have any use for any of the credits... I used grubhub for the first time in 2 years in NY since this Chinese restaurant didn't take credit cards but I could order on grub hub) I'm gonna wait and see how things play out before making a decision on the platinum for now, and who knows my situation my change as well.
FWIW, the sign-up bonus on the Schwab version has increased to 100k MRs, and they've thrown in 10x points on restaurants and small businesses as well.
I'm going to have resort to voodo "Amex math" to figure out if it still makes sense to get one to cash out (and if it does, the best time to do so, i.e. pre-Sept 1 or wait). 🤔
