Got what sounds like the same email today.  Didn't have any preapprovals, but took a shot at a Zync app anyway.  Instant approval.

The email that I received had a pre-screen and opt-out notice at the very bottom, so probably not just random marketing spam.

Did it give any indication whatsoever in regards to what products they were pre-selecting and/or pre-approving you for?  That seems a bit odd to receive such a notification and without any notice whatsoever in regards to what product(s) you were screened for.

That was the odd part. Nope. Just the benefits/prescreen and opt-out on mine.

I should have taken a screenshot of the pre-approved offer when I logged on to my account. There was a message telling me ' You have been pre-approved for the American Express Platinum'

I was like what the ..........  I already have it.

That's funny. About a week after my wife received her new Blue Cash Preferred, she started getting the message, "You have been pre-approved for the American Express Blue Cash Preferred".

That's nothing.  I just got a mailing from Amex offering me 25k bonus points and 250 Gift card if i sign up with a gold card.

I just got my gold card.

you don't need to wait to pc your blue to bce. the conversion will replace but keep history as well as backdate. there is no hard pull either.
