Earlier this year I cancelled my Amex Green card because they had restricted CLIs on my two Amex revolvers. During that conversation, I learned my Delta Gold Amex was going to get an annual fee charged in December. And it was going to be increased. So I determined, I would close that account later in the year. That frustrated me because my Gold card had a higher limit than my BCE. At the time, I saw I could shift some of my credit line to the BCE and I did. Wednesday I decided to cancel the Delta Gold, but the CSR convinced me to product change to a Delta Blue with no annual fee, so I did. Then I asked for a CLI and that limit got raised from $300 to $1800. So I'm pretty happy right now! I didn't want to close the Delta card, but it was the right thing to do with the annual fee and it's one of my oldest current accounts.
