AMEX Product Change Question

Hello,

Are the only ways to do a product change by chat or phone (is there no way to do the change on the website)?

Also, I assume the answer to this is no but if I product change am I eligible for any of the subs going on for that card? I'm wanting to change my Blue Cash Everyday to the Cash Magnet and am trying to make sure I do this in the most beneficial way.

I appreciate any help!

you might have an offer to product change, but that offer (if there even is one) is not going to be as good as the SUB.

You will lose the opportunity to get any SUB for the cash magnet by product changing to the cash magnet

so if you want the full SUB, you're going to want to apply for it directly and see if they are willing to give it to you.

considering the cash managet is only 1.5%, no 3% online shopping, no home chef credit, no hulu credit

I wouldn't change my BCE to a cash magnet, personally

do you want the 1.5% or just the SUB?

We'll, the BCE was my first AMEX... afterwards I've gotten the BCP and Gold. The only thing the BCE has for me now is the online shopping but once that caps (like I did months ago this year) then it's a bust. I was looking to maybe use it as the "catch all" card with the 1.5%. If there is an offer I'd definitely consider the change but if it's 1 for 1 without any sort of offer I'm still on the fence.

How would I check for any offers for the product change?

Re: AMEX Product Change Question

Everything up above is 100% correct.  If you had an upgrade offer (which would only be for BCP, which you already have), it would appear prominently on the account management page for that card (alternately by browsing to Cards -> View All Credit Cards while logged into the Amex website you can see upgrade offers).  Unless you have an upgrade offer, there is no way to do a product change without calling or chatting.

Thank you, I appreciate the info.

AMEX has treated me incredibly well the last 14+ months (the start of our relationship), I couldn't be happier with them, and am wanting to make sure I maximize my results.

I believe the only way to do a product change would be by phone. You could try chat, but I predict that it will not work.

I've never seen an offer for a product change, so I doubt one can check for them.

Why would it matter where you request the product change? Why would a website change be more beneficial than speaking to a rep?

Easy there, Nostradamus.  I literally did this 9 days ago.  People have been doing this all the time for years; it's quick and easy by chat.

Seeing is believing.  Screenshot taken just now:
