Since you are a member already they use your last soft pull. I would wait until they pull a recent soft pull. I got denied the BCE due to my January SP since it was my last. My report looks much better now. Youd think theyd do a new one on an app.
Called the Executive Office number this morning. Spoke to a nice gentleman who took my info and said he would speak to a New Account Rep and get back to me Wednesday. I told them I was a card holder for about two years and was sorry to bother the EO but I was tired of talking to scripted people and I wanted to speak to someone about my application and any help would be amazing. He didn't seem mad or anything that I called that number as some other people had said.
Day 2 - Heard nothing - He did say Wednesday but some people reported them getting back to the consumer after about 2 hours

Op- It seems like you are pretty far along in the recon process, but I would be careful to make sure they do not do another hp. Amex has been known to hp for recons in the past, even for exisiting cardholders.
I'm OK wih them doing another HP if they have to because that Information would only help them approve me. This is my last app for a long time anyways lol
I have seen people with way worse scores than me approved for the BCP; I just don't think they like my credit limits and amount of inquiries.
Amex EO called back from a blocked number...he left a voicemail; called him back right. Left a voicemail. He called back said nothing could be done because of my 12 inquiries. So denied by EO even though I don't have one derogatory remark on my credit profile.
Thanks for nothing Amex
I find that creditors are far more sensitive to inquiries and new accounts than people would realize. They just don't like the idea of someone shopping for credit. They see it as potential risk. A person with a good score and an otherwise clean credit profile but with many hard inquiries showing could actually have a harder time getting approved than someone with a less strong profile who has very few or no inquires at all on their report. I too have an amex charge card and I've been denied a revolver for too many inquiries and newly opened accounts. Like you I have exactly 12 inquiries on Experian - half of which will expire next month. That is why when you apply for credit, you really have to ask yourself if you want to live with the inquiry for the next two years.
Im just gonna keep bothering people until they give up. When I get the letter in the mail I'm going to write in and I'm debating posting the guys name and number/extension on here that "helped" me

Do write them for recon. Be firm but polite and argue each point on the decline letter. Don't post the number and extension here. It's not helping anything.
