AMEX Recon

I just called the executive number listed in the backdoor thread, talked to a nice lady, Jessica, let her know I had applied for and was denied a zync card.  She asked for my reference number and phone number and said I'd get a call back in about 24 hours.  She didn't ask any questions, so I know I wasn't talking a credit analyst, so pretty much I should consider the zync dead for about  year and reapp then?

Re: AMEX Recon

What was the reason for denial?

Re: AMEX Recon

The reasons stated in the letter are

1. Charged off financial obligations reflected in a report from Teletrack

2. Fico score 626 EX on 06/13/2012

3. Accounts not paid as agreed, had a few 30+ days late nearly 2 or so years ago

4. Our analysis of risk associated with customers who have accounts with the creditors in your CRA EX

the charge offs are pretty old nearly 7 years old.  I was hoping to talk to a real person and perhaps explain the reasons for baddies that are still there.

I am sending in for a copy of my Corelogic Teletrack file since that seems to play in a part in my denial.

You should call/write Teletrack and find out what is showing ~ do you have any checking accounts or overdrafts ?   AMEX definitely looks at Teletrack ~ several people have reported being denied by AMEX for the same reason.

Re: AMEX Recon

I downloaded their form, just have to get a copy of my DL, my printers low on ink, so I'll probably have to hit the local currency exchange for a copy.  Will get that out in the mail tomorrow.  I haven't had any overdrafts in nearly 3 years, back when I was with BoA.

Re: AMEX Recon

Based on my experience I don't think it's necessarily your score but I'd wait for the report from teletrack at the very least. Hopefully they just have some bad info on you and you can go from there.
