AMEX Recon

I recently app'd for the AMEX ZYNC last Thrusday night was offered the 500 autopay or 200 limit. I went to bed with accepting either offer to recon the next day. WHen I called I found out I was denied and no counter offer. I called and found a rep that was nice enough to take my reconsideration and send comments to the Credit Analyst explaining my report (I called 3 times to find someone kind....the 1st person refused to do a recon for me saying the primary reason of not approving me was because of "Too low of a FICO score 669...hmmm I though ZYNC was easy...and I dont have too many baddies on my report 1 CO and CA that is not mine and 2 paid CO, make 115K without adding in rental property).

Question should I call and find out whats going on or wait it out?

Re: AMEX Recon

People who are given those offers, are borderline approval for the Zync...You have 4 collections on your account...that might be why...

Re: AMEX Recon

"hmmm I thought Zync was easy..." There are no "Easy" Amex cards to get approved for. Amex is a prime creditor and all of their card products require you to have above average or better credit in order to be approved (roughly meaning 680+ FICO scores). 4 baddies and lower than ideal current scores are major reasons for a denail right now. In six months of gardening you should be in better shape and should reapply then.

Re: AMEX Recon

Checking various sites, that people compare their scores when they get approved...You scores are higher than others...it's the four collections...

Re: AMEX Recon

669 EX is on the low end for approval I'd say, and the 4 collections are killer, you're right. Garden mode for six months

Re: AMEX Recon

I'd say the baddies are hurting your approval chances as well.

Can't hurt to try GW'ing the CAs to see if they'll delete them from your CR. As others have said, all you need is one person to say yes to your request! Good luck!!

Re: AMEX Recon

See I am thinking that as well but its paid and it was while I was deployed and I sent them the info that corroborates that. Question is I recon'd just want to know if I should call back or just wait to find out if the recon was successful?

It being paid...how does this matter...it's still a collection on your account
