Due to system maintenance, it may take up to 30 days after your statement closing date to update your total rewards available. We appreciate your patience.
First, they take 2 statements to post the rewards. Now they're taking one more statement to let me redeem my rewards. This sucks !!!
Honestly, their rewards system is a complete joke. Huge delays and $25 increments only. That's why I got rid of BCP. Just not worth the headaches. You can basically never redeem all of the rewards unless you calculate it exactly so you end up with $50 or whatever, which is what they intend on, IMO...you have to leave some behind constantly.
Now, making it even worse? Ridiculous.
Wow, 3 months to get rewards? Sheesh.
That's really far behind considering there are banks that give you the rewards as soon as the transaction posts and others when the statement cuts.
I guess it varies because I've never had any problems with points, either SPG or MR, post very quickly after meeting spend requirement or subsequent months. I did read a mod on FT state that how fast Amex post rewards depends on each person's profile. No idea what that might vary on.

AMEX representatives now make up stories about how it is important to make sure that all charges etc have posted before rewards are shown.
It's simply ridiculous. Even if I were able to get a retention offer for the PRG when it gets a year old, I'm not sure if I'll keep it, simply because tracking rewards is so tough.

You're lucky Irish.
I don't know what they mean by profile. I've got 750+ scores, AMEX has given me a 25k BCE and mailed me that 50k PRG offer, so I don't get how better a profile I need to have. Plus, isn't mixing profile and rewards kind of discriminatory? I mean they are perfectly within their rights to deny me a card but after giving me the card, they should just give me the rewards that I'm eligible for, right away.

I have no clue what the mod was referring to. She seems somewhat knowlegable about Amex so if I get a chance I'll ask her. I wasn't trying to suggest something was wrong with your credit prfile and was only repeating what she posted because a lot of people complain about the same issue on FT. I am lucky because for bonuses I get the points posted the day after I meet the spend and for regular monthly points, as soon as the statement is issued. I certainly understand your frustration. They certainly should do better.

I'm confused. I don't know of anyone who has said they do NOT have the cash rewards delay on the BCE/BCP. I think Irish is referring more to the points cards where the points post quickly to the various loyalty accounts. But for amex's own rewards cards (blue cash, everyday, etc), I thought the delay was standard, no matter who you are or what your profile is.
Yeah, Im only referring to the MR/SPG cards as I don't have any of the cashback cards so can't comment on those. But I am also talking about the EDP card. My MR points post as soon as the statement is issued for the previous month and I have received my MR points bonus for the EDP, PRG and Platinum as soon as I hit the spend bonus requirement.
