AMEX SUB question

Hey everyone,

As an existing AMEX card holder (gold) I am trying to grab the patinum card (which I have never had). I am wondering if there has been instances of AA  from AMEX of attempting to get higher SUB via incognito mode. Could they potentially flag me trying to get the 75K bonus offer that I usually see has "abuse"

Re: AMEX SUB question

No, you are fine. Its actually smart to try and get highest Sub you can since its once a lifetime. Amex will know if you are abusing SUBS if you are churning accounts or opening for subs then closing immediately.

Re: AMEX SUB question

I've opened 12 Amex card accounts in the last 2 years and most of them were increased SUBs through incognito, referral, or dummy booking offers.  I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Re: AMEX SUB question

One time I found a better SUB after already applying.  I called them and they gave me the better one. I don’t think they mind giving out the best available offer as long as you aren’t obviously cheating them.

Re: AMEX SUB question

I’m surprised they matched the offer for you. Usually they don’t match SUB’s

Re: AMEX SUB question

Update:

Applied and approved, however after 10 days AMEX reps still do not see the offer linked to my account. However, the AMEX rep says he sees the offer (75K points) that was running at the time of my app, he  claims that it can happen sometimes and has to be manually reviewed so if there is an error i can be updated? It might take 6-8 weeks at max, UGH
