AMEX Upgrade Options...?!?

So... Not realizing it, I'm able to upgrade to either an AMEX PRG for $175 AF or an AMEX Platinum for $450 AF... Right now, I'm currently @ $125 AF with JUST the AMEX Gold... Any suggestions and/or input...?!? Let's kinda count the Plat out of this equation - I am really not ready for it just yet nor do I really have any use for it for how I currently use credit/rewards, etc. with AMEX... But is the PRG worth the additional $50 per year worth it to accumilate the rewards quicker...?!? Thank You!!!

Just curious if you're interested in just applying for a new charge as opposed to just upgrading and paying the AF for the new card?

Well, that's a good question, because... I was just about to add another question on to my original post... I was looking at the Blue (or is that considered a downgrade from my BCE) and the new AMEX Everyday... Smiley Happy

If i were in your position I probably would just apply for new card. PRG especially they will waive first year AF. Also if you are talking about Blue, not the blue Cash, the amex everyday is better than the blue in most instances. If you are talking about the old blue cash card that is an option when i called they said it was unavailable to go from Blue cash preferred to Blue cash.

Mong, looks like you're having a problem with double & triple quoting! lol Dude, what's going on with your browser?

I agree with the Everyday card being better then BCE and others in quite many ways.

Completely understand! I had to finance my laptop. Smiley Happy But I know your "afford" and my definition are different! lol You probably could afford whereas I definitely couldn't. You'll sort it out for sure.. I have no doubt!

Re: AMEX Upgrade Options...?!?

I think you definitely need to change. It just depends what you are looking to change to. Personally, I enjoy the NPSL of a charge card and it would be worth the slight uptick in AF to get multipliers for MR points earned. Conversely, if you don't care about your card being a charge card (or the multipliers for the PRG don't particularly match your spending profile), I agree either the no-fee Blue or Everyday would be good choices. But definitely don't stick with your current card earning 1x points and having to pay an AF on top of all that Smiley Happy
