AMEX Zync Preset Limit to NPSL

Hello everyone, I called Amex today in regards to my Amex Zync with $500 preset limit and AutoPay. I will have one year next month since I've had this card and asked if the preset limit could be increased or removed once it turns 1 year old. The CSR I spoke to informed me that they can't remove it by request or they cant put in a request to remove it. The removal is done basically when they feel like it.

I just wanted to know if anyone has this card with a preset limit and has had it for longer than 1 year. Has the limit been removed after 1 year or not? I'm kind of wondering now whether I should charge more to it or stop using it. Maybe I'll just apply for the BCE instead in about a year from now and close this card.

Keep using it unless you don't want to get another card from Amex. How's your credit? Credit cards is usually harder to get than charge cards.

I think they periodically review accounts to convert to NPSL. I have heard some people report having the hard limit removed at 6 months. But it will just depend on Amex's criteria, whatever that is.....

My credit score EQ and EX (from Amex) are in the low 600s so I plan on waiting till begining of next year before I apply for anything else. I have paid off all COs and the only ones I can't remove are two from BOFA, HSBC (BestBuy). and CITI (Homedepot). I haven't bothered with GWs on these since from what I have read they don't budge especially BOFA.

Well hopefully they will switch you over to NPSL soon.....your scores will get better as the COs age.

Give the some more history and once your score gets over some of their limits, they will remove the $500 and put it NPSL.

They probably softs your credit report often to see where you are at.

Re: AMEX Zync Preset Limit to NPSL

My friend got a Zync back in Oct. He began charging himself with paypal. He would charge 1K a day until he got a call from Amex. It was like a mini FR they wanted 6 months of bank statements. They then put a 1500 limit. He called today and was put on hold for 21 minutes. They said no they will not remove the limit at this time.

It is never a good idea to do stuff like this....people try lots of things to get MR points, or get around cash advance fees, etc....  This kind of behaviour leads to FR quite often.
