I am sure the answer is the forums somewhere - but my searching has come up empty.
I have added my ex-wife as an authorized user on my PRG account if she needs to purchase anything for my daughter and to collect points of her purchases. I have set a spending limit on her end, so that she can't really burn me if she can't pay her charges and I will be able to payoff whatever charges she makes if necessary.
There is an option for her to pay her charges instead of settling up with me at months end.
My account is setup as autopay at 25 days after closing.
My questions are basically:
How does her payments work?
How does my payment work?
Does she autopay first her balance, and then they hit mine magically for the difference?
If her payment is declined, then what happens? Does it just hit my bank account for the difference?
Hope this makes sense....

She can set up auto pay and/or pay from her own bank account. If the PYT is rejected, it will be an issue for your account as you are ultimately responsible for PYT. Also, for the cc's I have ACMs on I am not notified by alerts if the have made a PYT.
So, it won't automatically take the difference from me?
The auto payments feature with most banks can be tricky. It might look at what is due on one day and then pay that on another day even if payment was made in between. I would recommend talking to AMEX directly on how it functions in their case.
As for your x-wife, she will see the balance due on her card which will be what she spent on it. She can pay for it herself via website or telephone or check. At the end of the day you are responsible for charges. As FYI, the monthly limit thing isn't fool proof but works in most cases but make sure to set alert as well. In any case, asking AMEX is your best bet concerning timing of auto payments etc.

Thanks Crashem
You are correct this issue has to do with autopay timing.
I think there was a breakdown in my wording somewhere that made my question ambiguous.
I realize I am responsible for the account - I have no problem with this and is what I expected.
Do I even bother having her make payments to AMEX - won't they just pull 100% of what is due out of my linked bank account?
To clarify.
I want to make sure AMEX is paid 100% in full the easiest way possible for me. I prefer Autopay - they take what I owe.
Evening bump. Still looking for an answer.
