No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
@FinStar wrote:It's also worth noting that No Preset Spending Limit does not equal to "unlimited" charges. There are clauses in the card agreement that state the following ("Using the card" section "We decide whether to approve a charge based onhow you spend and pay on this Account and other accounts you have with us and our affiliates. Wealso consider your credit history and your personalresources that we know about")
Okay, I knew there had to be some kind of ceiling. Plus, certain charges can spook anyone, why not? And with OP stating Amex accused him/her of doing something wrong.....that is a concern and a concern that probably was the end of that relationship it sounds like, thus the cld's.
I was just thinking about the "spending power" knowing that Amex will allow/wants to allow you to have purchase power but it's their SandBox, gotta go by their rules. Idk the rules, trying to learn but it never hurts to ask....that's a freebie that don't bite back. When in doubt; don't is a saying I will remember with Amex. (esp. biz purchases)

My differential equations are a bit rusty.
Big number math is hard
Lets bring this thread in for a landing as I think most of what needs to be said has been said. Will leave open for a few more minutes if people want to give a few last pieces of constructive advise both ways then this thread will be locked as taking to much bandwidth of various peoples times. Thanks all.
@simplynoir wrote:So OP wants help but only from selected Big Baller Types. And when us "bigwigs" do help we get shot down for not understanding the fiances that go into those purchases
Do I have that about right so far?
I'm more of Big Ballerina Type. I'm getting disillusioned with Amex with each post.

There really aren't limits on amex cards, just glass ceilings. While you may have a $5k limit on a revolver, they will allow you to charge over it if they have faith it will be taken care of.

Well gee, you could have told us this on page two and saved us all a bunch of time! lol

I'm in agreement with this. OP, you basically stated that you were here to vent not to receive help. This forum is all about help. We all get emotional when credit affects us. As you've seen many of us have had great relationships with American Express over the years. When you posted your scores and mentioned that you had perfect payment history, that was a red flag for us and we were all simply trying to show you why Amex took this decision. It's not based on political parties or any other factor, and it's not a personal decision. It was simply risk mitigation.

I am just trying to figure out where exactly I was asking people for help? I was more or less sharing my experience.
When you share an experience and list "your" facts, but not all of them, that there will open up dialog. Open ended questions is mostly what resulted from your first post. But it was like pulling teeth, or spraying sunscreen on a kiddo to get more stats.....so yeah, this has been a bumpy ride cause we all want to know, and try to figure out what is/are the key factors to said "experience"...that's all.
Hope you get it all worked out.
Fair enough! I am getting to that part!
They weren't kidding when they said this place is fast moving, I got the impression from the original thread that I came in on that it wasn't! I like it more when I am pleasantly surprised. I may have to start a new thread for each issue and pin my supporting images on the original post to ensure clarity. I want to share the details in particularly and there are a few issues I really do need some help understanding - one of them AMEX asking me to make a double payment this month. So I will do that and I appreciate MyFico for keeping the thread open, I really do!
And I understand I am the noob here, I am not trying to take away anyones thunder. It was a lot to put out there and I wasn't sure the best way to do it... I tried to take the lazy way and post a link to another thread but turns out that other thread is a little to juicy for this place. Thus I will state my individual issues one by one with separate threads and supporting documents so I don't confuse anyone.
Fair enough?
