AMEX delayed reporting?

I received a SW alert for a balance increase on one of my cards.

When I checked, AMEX was reporting my balance ending on 6/19 and not my balance ending on 7/20.

I had also PIF online within the first week of my 6/19 statement.

Is that right? CCC reporting balances for the month before?

For AmEx, that is exactly right - the balance they report is the closing balance of the PREVIOUS month's statement.

I agree. It's already hard enough managing to keep 10 cards all reporting 0 balances without having to worry about next month's balance as well.

For those who like to have only one card reporting a balance, and they have an AmEx, that's the easiest one to go with.

My statements drop on the 18th. AmEx reports that balance to the CRA's on the following 14th. Then the next statement drops four days later, and THAT balance reports on the following 14th, and round and round we go!

I thought I'd pay off some of my cards to see how much of a score boost I'll get, but I guess I will have to wait 2 more months since this months statement already carries a balance.
