AMEX doesn't hard pull for app denial?

I applied for two AMEX cards one for business (Gold charge card)

and one for TD ameritrade ( I think this is AMEX)

Neither of them gave me a hard pull and that was from 2 weeks ago.

Are they just very delayed? I have a paid IdentityGuard account and nothing is showing up and not on my free CK account either.

American Express as in Centurion Bank doesn't typically do a HP for existing card holders if you are denied.

Keep in mind that CK does not monitor Experian so you would never see a report pulled from them.

Right.

OP, you applied for a TD card and don't recall which network? Smiley Very Happy  AFAIK, TD Ameritrade (i.e. Client Rewards) is issued as a Visa.  Unless you're specifically speaking about a Canadian-issued TD card.

Think he might mean the Ameriprise Platinum card which is issued by Centurion.

Correct. For existing customers AmEx only HP's if approved. If denied it's a SP.

I thought this was no longer the case.  I feel like I read something a few weeks ago that they are now HP for existing even if it is a decline.  Did I just make that up?

EDIT:  Was referring to this.  http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/NEW-policy-for-AMEX-Applications-for-existi...

Apparently I stopped reading too early and isn't a new policy...
