AMEX gave me a Heart attack!!!

First of all, I want to thanks every one of you in the forums, without you guys i will not know anything about credit at all.

now back to my topic, recently i has been looking for some new plastic in my wallet. so i was like what card should i get. But since im 18 and only with oldest account of 9 months and average of 7 months. The cards that i have is a secured 500$ TD bank card, 750$ unsecured capital one and 400$ amazon store card. I was kinda scared to apply for me. But I was like what is the worst that could happened. I apply for Amex PRG, bamm approved. Then i tried to squeeze in BCE with 1 inquire. And then bamm approved too. At first I was like maybe they will say wait for 7-14 day messages. But I got instant approoval for both so yayy.  Then i started to wonder about my limits on BCE. I was thinking of 2k since most of the members here get 2k starting limit too, when the representative told me i got 8K, my jaw dropped. I was like **bleep** 8k, then i asked for my apr, he then told me i got the best availble rate there is. With this luck going on, i app'ed for discover it, and got 3k approved too Smiley Very Happy

So i went from 1650 in credits to 12650 in credits with only 9 months of credit history. This is the best June ever.

P.S. Should I apply for chase freedom to get into the door of chase?

Re: AMEX gave me a Heart attack!!!

Grats on the approval!

You can apply for the freedom now too if you think that card is gonna be of some use to you. Chase usually wants 1 year credit history but I have seen people getting approved with under 1 year credit history

I'd wait until the Amex reports on your cr before applying with Chase.

Re: AMEX gave me a Heart attack!!!

John- Congrats on those nice cards! If I were you, I would give it another 3-4 months before applying with Chase and then go for the Freedom and another cards. For some reason Chase has been generous to me in terms of my limits that they have given me for my income (12k, 2.4k and 3.6k limits respectively.) your doing well, so good luck and in no time, your credit will be outstanding!

Bank of America: Cash Rewards.- 4.2k. 4/25/12 (CLI Increase 6/15/13, CLI May of 2015, sept 2015), Citi: Forward- 4.5k. 10/27/12 (CLI on 2/8/14, SP, CLI on 9/26/15 sp). Discover: More- 7k, 10/27/12 (Increase 6/1/14, CLI in May of 2015, SP 9/2015) Amex: PRG- NPSL (closed 12/13/13). 11/24/12.
