My last INQ on EX was 10/16. I've decided to wait until 5/1 to try for a prime card. It's either going to be AMEX or PSECU.

Which one should I go for? I'm hoping I can get ride of this paid lien by then but if not I may just hold off. All my other stats are clean no baddies, 2% util most accts will be close to a year history.

From experience, PSECU doesnt like to see baddies. I have a paid charge off that's 5 years old and PSECU denied my CC app back in August.

That's the only reason they gave me. Spoke to a supervisor and she said if I didnt have this charge off (despite being paid), she would have approved my CC application.

Although I have heard of people with derogs like mine getting approved.

AMEX seems the way to go; first becasue it's the prime of the prime and secondly for backdating.

If you get the lien off I would start with a Zinc once it's gone. Start your banking relationship with Penfed friday and and start your Amex once your clean and you can have both someday.

I'm holding off Penfed for about 12 months myself. I just opened Alliant, and DFCU this year so really can't afford to have a 6th checking account so soon lol

PSECU is Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union.

Just for future reference ^_^..
