I am just not going with them ever ever ever again. SO after hearing what great stuff the AMEX oasis program is, I knew I qualified for. I even got a letter months ago but tossed it because I was really upset with AMEX. Background - went over 30 days late on green card several times - they closed account sent to collections. I paid before collections got it. Had blue card, was late a few times by a week or two, but never 30 days late. They promptly closed that account and sent to collections. Seeing I didn't have $4k lying around I made monthly payments to Nationwide Credit. Finally get that paid off. So I go an inquire about the Oasis program with the Optima card. Seeing I tossed the letter, I searched on here for the numbers. The first number sent me to 4 other numbers, all of which did not have any clue as to what I was talking about. Called the second number from the forums. Again no idea what I was talking about. They sent me to three other numbers, no idea what Oasis is. Called the third number on the forum. They know what Oasis (he said I definitely qualified for the account) is but I have to talk with Nationwide. Call Nationwide. They look up my account and say yes, you qualify for Oasis however, you have your membership rewards attached and that is what they will give you back. They tell me to call AMEX and have them switch me to Oasis. Call AMEX and they say call Nationwide, only Nationwide has the power to switch me. AT THIS POINT I HAVE HAD IT.
So I told the lady on the phone that I would not be calling anyone else as this is like my 10th call on the subject. I don't care to get back into AMEX's "good graces". I told her thank you and hung up.
I see it touted as this great program, but after about 10 calls and not getting anywhere I was done. I don't see the point when they do financial reviews, can pull the rug out from you at any time, and can't give me a straight answer. They can keep my membership rewards. I don't care for them (I think I had like 50,000 points too. WHOOPPEEE.
