AMEX strategy

I currently have a BCP with an $11k CLI backdated to 2005. I am weeks away from my first 3 x's CLI which i will exercise to get to about $25K to play it safe.

my plan is to also apply for the new Everyday no-fee amex for the sole purpose of backdating  - giving myself a better and longer credit history...since my average age of accounts is only 5 years (according to CK).

my question:

1: i am scared that apping for the new AMEX Everday card just days BEFORE or AFTER the 3x CLI will raise flags...as in "he just got more credit and wants another card?!"

2. assuming i end up asking for 3xs CLI and applying for the new Everyday card within days from each other, what are the chances that i can prevent an HP for the new card and perhaps use the SP in regards to the 3xs CLI?

Re: AMEX strategy

The new card will be a HP if approved and a SP if declined I don't think there is any ofther way they do it

Re: AMEX strategy

I really don't think it will be an issue. Its a new product, I'm sure tons of people will be applying for it. I don't think that will raise any red flags.
