sorry about that, though it looks like they're getting fancier now. when they got me they didn't bother with such pleasantries. in fact, i didn't get an email or a letter if my recollection serves me.
i just logged on to my acct. and gasped when i looked at my new limit as being a fraction of my former self
it's understandable that one would want to close an acct. if they feel they've been mistreated and want to abruptly end the business relationship. however, how you are dealing with it would seem to put you in the driver's seat more so than a reactionary, knee jerk closing of the acct., which can even damage your score. to each his own i guess.

I would have to disagree with that somewhat, like you stated to each his own but I would not be happy being at the mercy of any credit card company when I have been nothing short of amazing with maintaining my credit reputation. I dont see how this could hurt me at all my utilities are very low and a zero balance on AMEX at time of closing and I have great prime banks that appreciate my business and as a matter of fact I already replaced the CL loss thru CLI on 3 of my other cards with no Hard Inq so now instead of waiting for AMEX to decide one day that they should shut me down I took it upon myself to have it show on my credit report "Closed at consumers request" I dont know about the rest but like I said before I will not stand around and "Hope" that AMEX will treat me good.
huh? weren't you just saying that you are v. happy amex in another cld thread. i think you may have even mentioned something like you use it as a debit card and were sort of reveling in the fact that you hadn't had any problems/ really like the card?? did they cld you too or something some time after that?

I am glad I got rid of them. I can't justify paying them an annual fee to sock drawer the low cl card. The card is basically useless (especially the charge cards not helping utl whatsoever). Also, is it me or are the reps getting a little attitude?
