AMEX

I keep hearing good things about AMEX.  How do I go about getting one? Lol.  What does my credit score need to be, which AMEX card is best, and do they do they grant after reconsideration??  Also, if I have two previous collections, will they decline..? Thanks/

ex of 620 or so will (or at least used to) get a gold delta. amex doesn't like recent baddies (last 2 years or so), and in my experience won't change it's mind on recon.

They also seem to be big on recent inquiries in my experience.

they were number 12 or 13 in the last 12 months on my ex when i got my delta.

I had 38 Inq's on EX and EX Fico 669 when I got my Amex Platinum.

I want a Platinum too. I am not in a situation to qualify for it at this time, however in the years to come I'm going after that baby, and will regreat the AF.

i applied for my first amex last june and was instantly approved for the delta gold skymiles.  i believe my score at the time was 635 ish to 650 ish.  initially they gave me a cl of $1,000 and i requested an increase and they raised it to $3,000...yippee!

i had lates that were less than a year old....they may have raised their qualifying criteria with everything that has been going on in the financial world recently...not sure.

I would wait to app especially if the collections are fairly recent and unpaid.
