I can't make sense out of any of this. Oh well...I read MV's post to mean he had only one collection, and it was 6.75 years and 6 days old.His other posts have referred to that collection before. I know he's counting the days.
@TULO30 wrote:Short answer - I applied for the AMEX Green and Blue. I am not officially denied yet. It is a long story...I applied for the AMEX Blue and was denied. The reasons given on my denial letter were absolutely made up! I know that sounds weird but it is the truth. AMEX pulled Experian to make their decision.I called Experian and they agreed that the reasons AMEX gave me for the denial were not reflected on my credit report. So, I immediately called AMEX rep who told me I was denied AMEX blue because of the lates I had with a Chase account in 2003 (the late was 120 days). Now, keep in mind I have many credit cards - Discover, Visa, MC, and my scores are in the 700s...so this was all very puzzling to me.The AMEX Rep told me I should apply for the Green card because it is easier to get than the blue card. I applied for the green card and received a denial with the exact same reason given that was listed on the denial letter I received when I applied for AMEX blue.I called AMEX Rep again who admitted to not understanding why I was denied! I thought great...this is just stupid. So now I am awaiting their final decision on my app....All that being said, you may have better luck. I have seen man posters here approved with even recent lates...
