Pretty much, unless they counter-offer you with the the autopay or the hard-limit options; NPSL is the best terms they offer on the Zync, so if you received that you're not entitled to anything else heh.

so i dont think ill be able to get this card for years to come. ill get my other cards up with better CL's.
I wish my score were 809! That's quite impressive. So is the length of your credit history.

809=alot of work
length of your credit history=being old
LOL
I personally didn't care much for not getting the best "terms" with BCE even though I got the lowest APR (I'm confused).
I was happy that I actually got my EXP from them, so that made it worthwhile.

+1
All i have to do is get the card in my hand and then see what the $5100.00 CL and the back dating to 1989 will do to my scores!!!!!!!
Any ideas??
I don't know what your overall utilization is right now, so I have no idea what that will boost you.
And if your AAOA is 16 years BEFORE the card, I don't know that it will give you that much of a boost either, with you being at 809.
But that's my best guess and I know a lot less than most here ![]()

I can definitely confirm that Amex has a very unusual way of evaluating card applications for existing members. I have had two charge cards Gold Premier Rewards and Green cards since Sep 2011. Since I knew for a fact that the apps were soft pulls (if denied) for existing members, I app'd monthly for a credit product. No dice. With every denial, I would clearly see that the EX FICO score used was at least a month old. Last month, I knew that my reports were clean as a whistle. I app'd and was again denied. When I checked the letter, it said that my score (680ish) was dated back to early February. I called Customer Service, who could not help me (scripted responses). So, I decided to call the Executive line. They were very polite. They even did a manual pull and (verbally) told me that my score was 745. Still could not get me approved. When I received this denial letter, it still said the score was in the low 700's. Of course this made no sense! I figured I would just wait 30 days and try again. Fast forward to yesterday. I app'd knowing that my EX report is frozen. I figured it was going to be another denial. When I called for status, I was told that they could not process the app because my EX was frozen? (Didn't make sense as my EX has been frozen for months.) I took this to be a good sign - if they needed to do a hard pull, it's because I was going to get approved. Anyway, I unfroze the report and bam! Approved for two cards: Hilton Surpass - 20K limit BCP - 20K limit I think that there are two reasons why I was finally approved. First, I just passed the 6 month mark with my charge cards. Second, the lag in credit score probably updated to show my current EX score, which is somewhere in the mid to high 700's. Go figure! Hope this helps.
Very informative post. Thanks for posting SanjeevR. This really helps people like me understand how the CCC works, expecially Amex. What was your score when you app for the PRG card.
