A straight, no fuss 3% back on everything with virtually no hoops to jump through, no annual fee, no balance requirement, etc, etc, is just not destined to last, especially for a CU that was likely anticipating a fraction of the number of applications they actually got.
The fact they still continue to heavily advertise the card, and have actually increased their efforts to do so, suggest that they still want more.
But no, they're not prepared for DoC, Reddit, and FT.
I'm sure they want to market the card to their existing members, so it makes sense to advertise it to them. I'm less certain they want to market it to the general public, people on card forums, etc.
They found their way to this very thread and adapted some of their policies in response but they actually seemed quite happy to be expanding. I was looking at their annual reports and while the CU has remained extremely healthy, they were actually losing members instead of gaining new ones. It will be interesting to see how many members they gain when the numbers come out next year 😂

My guess is that this card and membership will become much, much harder to get, if it hasn't already. They will probably do that before nerfing benefits. Regulators will probably clamp down on them if they don't control the flood gates - so they will probably do that before regulators make/force them to, as they work to mitigate risk and fraud.

They're already being more selective. We are seeing denials for x/24, tighter restrictions on DTI, etc. The card is still available but they have tightened up the terms along the way. When it first started, hardly anyone got declined.

I just hope this 3% stays around they can put a 10k cap on it a month and that would make me happy to ensure the 3% is here to stay!
If anyone ever loves me like you love this card, I'll make them sammiches, bring beer, and change channels for life.
Laundry probably too, but dont want to sound too needy
I don't usually give relationship advice for free, but in this case:
Avoid having a relationship with people on CC forums. You know, your big romantic anniversary is tonight, you are ready to go out but your partner is staring at the computer. So you helpfully remind them "We should go now." but partner replies, "Oh, maybe you should go on your own. Bank X is going to launch this new card soon and I want to read all about the details"
Of course, you might also view this as perfectly acceptable (well, except you are certainly not going to go out when there is this new card launching!) in which case go ahead.
I will never be as lucky as to find someone with similar credit and financial outlooks, and hobbies as I have.
I'd far rather have a partner who is spending money on a myFICO subscription than literally hundreds if not thousands of other things that I could think of.
I'd be down for myFICO and chill, just sayin'.
🙋♀️
Hey, how you doin'?
Oh you know, chopping onions and looking at my scores. The usual

So crying? Gotcha
Someone on DoC said they were denied and that the card is now geofenced
@kdm31091 wrote:Someone on DoC said they were denied and that the card is now geofenced
probably trying to throw others off so they dont attempt ?

Very plausible.
I'm sure AOD knows whats going on. They can decide how they want to proceed with this. I just hope it doesn't ruin it for those who already got the card like me who simply looking for a flat 3% CB card for everyday* purchase.

I wonder how common that is. Over the years, I've seen here comments like
1) My partner isn't interested and thinks I am weird for being interested in this
2) My partner isn't interested but appreciates the rewards so doesn't mind
There are certainly some cases where a pair actively participates together but I don't think I've seen
"My partner is just as interested as I am"
Maybe that's because, to be fair, it's really not THAT interesting! How many lifetime discussions can you have about "MR vs UR" (Answer is 2043)
