I'd like to know this as well. I just started back up my hours working with Door Dash. Should be able to make 2.5k this month. Would AOD accept it if I tried again? I'll wait more if need be.

Membership application was HP EQ. I joined the Anniston Runners Club to come within the field of membership.

3 weeks after applying for membership I applied for the Visa Signature card. No new HP.

It immediately went into "Pending Follow-up" status.

After 3 days they got back to me with a denial on the ground that my existing balances were too high.

hmm that sucks. I originally got $20k limit, but think I could have gotten $25k.. Sucks that it will be a new HP and new account if i ask for credit limit increase.

Thanks for insight

This is not exactly accurate. I recently got a CLI on my AOD card. You do apply like you are applying for a new account, and it does require a HP. It goes to review just like the first time and do require POI and all of the other documentation from the first time (I reused all the same stuff from

the first time except my check stub). Whether you are approved or not, the account doesn't change. It's the same account, same number, still has the same payment history. I got in after the initial wave when a lot of people were getting lower limits or denied in June. I got a 5K SL and they recently approved another $5K CLI for a total of $10K.

It was the same somewhat cumbersome process as the first time, so I'm not sure I'll do it again, but now at least I have decent limit on it and I can use it freely without worrying about making a payment before the closing to keep from dinging my credit.

@JNA1 Thanks for clarifying this, I'll post an update note in post 1 of the approval thread.

Sorry to hear of the denial @SouthJamaica, but thanks so much for adding your experience and data points on AOD.  Maybe now that you're a member, you'll be able to get the 3% Visa card eventually!  Best wishes with that in the future.

@SouthJamaica i'm very sorry to hear that as well, but do not lose heart. Just give it a little time with membership and I'm sure you'll get in later.

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

Anyone know if AOD only reports your statement balance or current balance to Credit Agencies? For example, my statement balance is $3 but current balance is $1000. Would the $1000 balance report or $0 if I paid off the statement balance? Trying to keep my utilization low but don't want to pay more than I should because I'm trying to pay off some other debts.

I'm trying to call them b/c credit card services said to call them locally because they don't know. I try calling the local number and they say they're closed (which is odd because many of their branches are open on Fridays).

AOD will report whatever balance is on your account the day of statement closing, minus the 3% rewards earned from that statement closing.

Ok so they are reporting the current balance then? Thanks.

BTW it appears they are open at 10am because of the time change.
