Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

@TryN2Rebuild, no you don't have to call.   Most if not all (?) of those organizations you can join online.   All the details are in the original Master AOD FCU thread from April 2020, the AOD FCU Visa discussion thread, or the AOD FCU Visa Approvals thread.

See my previous message to another member regarding methods to join AOD FCU with links to the above threads:

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

Has anyone had any success with AODFCU getting approved for a CC with a BK on their CR?

I'm not sure, but I doubt it.  Their approvals have erred conservative, but @PullingMeSoftly may have more data points about that.   While approval with a BK might be possible, I'm sure it would depend on how recent as well as a lot of other important factors like credit scores, income, and debts.

We've had members get denied for low FICO scores and they use the mortgage EQ5 score which tends to run significantly lower than other FICO scores for most people.  And we've had members get denied due to the way they calculate income (excluding bonuses and overtime) or the way they calculate debt-to-income, in particular Student Loan debt.

The 3% card is also a Visa Signature so you only get the 3% back version if they approve you for $5K minimum.  They have a basic Platinum Visa and Secured Visa that both earn only 1% on everything.  But that could be a foot-in-the-door to the Signature card later on.

Thanks to all zero I now know what AOD is.   I've skimmed this thread but it's 61 pages long and I don't want to read the whole thing to get an answer to this question: do they approve people with BK 7's reporting?   If yes, any idea of the timeframe post-filing?   Also, do they really require POI for everyone for membership?    I don't care about their DTI concerns because I have no debt, but I'm self-employed and only give out my tax returns for mortgage loans.   Can you clue me in?   Thanks in advance.

Thanks.   I'm glad I asked since it's on page 61 of the thread.   I'm not sure I get the excitement about this card.   Seems folks are a bit manic.  What was that CU in Oregon years ago?   Everybody jumped on it and then the CU realized they were on a website helping people with bad credit and they promptly shut everybody down?

I wouldn't expect them to call your references.  They just want additional contacts in case there are problems or questions with your account and they can't reach you.

Can they really use a reference that way?  I guess if it is just "We are trying to reach LTL, do you have a good contact number for him?" but as a reference that might also annoy me!   But certainly wouldn't want anyone discussing problems or questions with my account.

The critters card, e.g. Ducks and Beaver? OCCU Duck, OSU Beaver.

AOD appears to be going strong. Hope it stucks around for a long while.

Yes, that was what I meant. As far as I know, I haven't heard of references being contacted so alternative ways to find someone is my best guess of why they ask.

Maybe we are @CH-7-Mission-Accomplished  but this card has a lot going for it!  See my previous posting about it below. It's rare to see this combination of features and it beats or competes with many other popular cards on My Fico!
