Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

For me, it's the automatic redemptions. The only other card I could find with this feature is the Blue Business Cash card from American Express. Does anyone know of any others? I would love an automatic redemption card for larger bills that do not accept American Express. Unfortunately, I was denied for the AOD Visa.

If you don't mind me asking, why were you denied? And if you'd rather not, that's fine as well.

Something like too many recent accounts. I didn't look too much into it because it was cool if I got it, not a big deal if I didn't.

Not so useful now, but I think that Penfed Cash Rewards (NOT Platinum Rewards), that gave 5% off gas was also automatic redemption, but no longer available to new apps.

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

In the AOD approvals thread there are several Myfico members, listed below, that got approved for the AOD credit this year.

Are any of approvals from out of the area? If yes, did you have to join a organization or club to get in through back door? Name of said organization or club?

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

Hi @kremonis , I was approved (California) way out of the geo area.

Joined through;

"Known successful eligibility memberships outside of geo/employment/standard eligibility:

-Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA)

(Membership is processed through the International Mountain Bike Association IMBA, NEABA Chapter)

Other ways of joining:

-United Way of East Central Alabama (limited to members rather than donations)

-Anniston Bridge Club

-Anniston Runners Club

Other possible paths for eligibility (thanks batsy71):

-Calhoun Court Chambers Membership ($90 join fee)

-Purple Martin Conservation Association ($35 annual fee)

Good Luck!

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

I'm in northern Colorado (no ties to Alabama) and was approved via NEABA membership. Joined about 2 weeks before I applied to AOD.

The Purple Martin Conservation Association wasn't listed as a SEG when I was preparing to apply, so it might not be a valid path to membership anymore.

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

Glad you posted the question @kremonis , as it appears the membership eligibility portion of the approval thread is hard to spot being at the bottom of the post. I like to make improvements whenever possible, so I've moved that info closer to the top, just after factors impacting approvals, and added a note to that section as well.

Thanks @M_Smart007 for replying with the membership info, beat me to it, you're quick on the draw!
