The Purple Martin Conservation Association wasn't listed as a SEG when I was preparing to apply, so it might not be a valid path to membership anymore.

Thanks for noting this @gregorius, I've added a note next to it in the eligibility section.

@kremonis your thread has been merged with master thread that already has your answer, pretty much everyone (with few notable exceptions) is "out of area"

Let's not drown all the valuable DPs with roll calls.

I applied for a card while appling for the membership and was approved for the membeship but denied for the CC. The reason was to many CC or retail cards. I feel its probably cause of my BK back in 2015. I guess I wait.

@TryN2Rebuild

How many CC did you have? How old were they?

Re: AOD Visa Siggy Discussion Thread

I'm wondering if they're denying people just because of the sheer volume of users/applicants that they already have. In my experience with them in terms of their credit is all over the place.

The first time I applied it was because:

"DEBT TO INCOME BALANCES TOO HIGH."

Then when I applied for a second time, they said "Pending Follow-Up." They ask me for documents and bank statements.

I went through through the trouble to get my documents from DoorDash of my $800+ weekly deposits official sheets - they wanted to verify my income - I figure, "Okay, so they're asking for income so I guess everything else is okay."

Nope.

Days later the CSR told me, "You have too many trade lines according to UW."

Okay, thats fine -

Then I get my denial letter stating

"TOO MANY RECENT INQUIRIES."

At this point I'm going to give them a month or two and then I'm gonna shut them down. My experience with their credit lending has not been good. If you're going to deny me, fine. But you ask to see all my income and papers and then you deny me? That's a no from me. One thing I dislike (very much) is when I feel my time is wasted. Time = money.

I never EVER had any trouble with any other credit union or bank trying to get credit cards at all. Seriously. Some have denied me but they didn't waste my time asking me for all my documents only to deny me.

BECU may have asked for all my documents and I certified mailed them - but they didn't make me go through all that trouble just to deny me.

In fact, my Sears Mastercard has treated me with the love and respect I deserve. These past 6 months (and still going) they've been giving me 15% back at gas, groceries, and restaurants up to $150 per month. It's surpassed any sign up bonus or rewards I will ever get from AOD.

I suppose she loves some and not so much others. This has just been my experience with their credit underwriting.

I do see some approvals for this year, but who knows? Cause my scores are good - I can't get it all. It's okay though - I do feel like they wasted 4 minutes of my life and I want them back!! ......I just waste them anyway. 😋

I tried once and only once for this card . Denied due to income. Lol i imagine the UW face when they saw it Smiley Wink. Never tried again since im not going to go gaga over a 1% more cc that is only given as statement credit.  I dont spend enough to it to make a difference and i prefer being able to take cash back and use it however i like.  Go with works for you. Every bank and CU can do without any one of us as they will always get what they need from someone so im to point if i get denied now , meh, onto next lenderSmiley Wink

@MoneyBurns - not every lender will work for everyone, and while you have been approved for a couple of new tradelines since your last reported AOD experiences, it's time to move on.

I agree. I think I will close them today - it keeps coming up and I think I would just feel better over all if I did. Thanks!
