I'm sorry, I just feel like I won something! LOL
I haven't had an active CC in years. I want to buy a house in 1.5 years and I was considering opening a secured card, or 2, or 3. Anyway, all of my baddies from EQ have aged off and I have a 712. EX and TU are terrible stories... one is in the 565 range and the other 609. All easy fixes, I just haven't gotten there yet.
So, I got a little brave and applied for the USAA Amex Cash Rewards and was approved for $10k with a 13.9% interest rate. I nearly fell out of my chair. I pulled my stomach out of my throat and applied for the MC Rewards card and was approved for ANOTHER $10k there too!!!!
Whew.
Thank goodness they only pulled EQ. Now, I'm the teeniest bit worried because I know they periodically soft-pull EX, and that's my worst CR.
Anyway, that's my story. You think I did good, or did I fudge something here? I'm flying high here, but as always, I'm worried that I might have inadvertently made things tougher for myself (as I often do). I wasn't worried enough to NOT apply, though, soooo...

Great Planning on your part... I wouldn't worry too much about the soft pulls... If you would feel more comfortable you can always call their reps and talk about it. I think when they do account reviews they mainly look for new derogatory info, not old stuff.
WOW great credit line!!! CONGRATS!
Whats your credit profile like? AAoA, income etc. Are you a full or partial member? Thanks
Thanks everyone!
My AAoA is 7 years, I'm a full member (Army vet), and I'm a stay-at-home-mom but our household income is $4,500/month.
I'm getting membership through NavyFed (through my brother) because I heard they MIGHT also only pull EQ, and I want to round out my app spree with a nice Visa or something. I also heard they're pretty generous.
Can anyone else verify that they pull EQ exlusively?
Wow, con grats!!! I have the same two card and i did the same amex first then mc. LOL!!

For account openings they typically pull TU. For CC's they've pulled EQ. For my auto refi they pulled TU and EQ. For the NavChek I received a credit score disclosure from EQ, but no inquiry has showed on any report (app'd 4/6/12) yet.
EQ was pulled on my last cc app with USAA.
They pull TU for accounts? What kind of accounts (please forgive my ignorance, here)? Loans, etc, or just for opening a checking/savings account?
Thanks
