APR Reduction and CLI clock

I woke up to this thought this morning and could not find a specific thread on this topic -

Does asking a CSR (call or chat) for a reduction is APR reset the CLI clock? Assume you subsequently get the reduction.

Not necessarily, but which CC are you inquiring about?

I am thinking these two - Citi DC and Disco.
The other CCs I have maybe hard to crack.

I can confirm from personal experience that an APR reduction does not affect a CLI clock on either Double Cash or Discover it.

Neither Discover nor Citi reset the CLI clock when requesting an APR reduction, so you're good there.

From your signature; Chase, SYNCB, and Capital One will not lower APRs upon request.

Here's a quick update:

Chatted with Citi: Tried two times - No joy. "I would like to let you know as of now there are no offers going on, on your account for the lower APR however I have added a note on your account so that next time when the marketing team reviews the account they can add some good offers on your account."

Chatted with Disco: APR reduced from 14.49% to 13.49% (calculated at Prime + 8.74%)

Chatted with Cap1 since I was feeling lucky: No joy.

1 out of 3...Guess I should be content now.

Not too bad, but just keep in mind that Capital One doesn't lower APRs.

You can try Citi in the next few days (or each week if you prefer) until an offer becomes available.
