I am trying to get ready for an mini app spree. I was wondering how does AU cc utilization differ from one where you are main card holder. Does Fico calculate them differently. For example how would having an au cc showing an utilization of 5% but having no other cards show an balance, would that be the same as an cc, where you are the only user, that shows same utilization?
i believe au utilization is calculated the same...someone correct me if i'm wrong

As long as the cc appears on your cr, util will be counted as one without any reference to AU vs individual. This is one of the main reasons why adding AUs should be thought through for the potential impact on your cr.
The main reason i was asking was because i noticed on my sw that when i paid off my main cards to zero i got an little ding of three points or so, the au card i have with amex still had an 7% utilization reporting, so i got confused why that occurred.

Nothing else happened on your report? Maybe your sweet spot is closer to 10%
Wait, is the Amex a charge card or a revolver?
Its an amex costco card, on the little score watch thing, they told me reason it went down is my balance on card got paid off to zero, so i am just confused all around :-(. Also on the CK site, i was looking at my overall utilization it was at 9 %. So you can say i am honestly perplexed. I will wait to see if there are any changes when all my card report their proper balances. btw lexie thx for the help :-)

CK doesn't take AUs into account at all. In the long run, paying off your debt is in your best interest.
well when all my cc report with zero balances i may pull my experian score/report , so i can see if i am ready to go on that mini app spree. I want to try for Amex BCP , chase freedom, and discover it. I did get pre approvals from discover it and chase freedom so hopefully i am on the right track :-)
Yeah, As everyone said.. It's the same.
My mom co-signed for me on Care Credit, When I got it from $2,500 to $20,000 it dropped her overall UTL by a HUGE amount.
