First question.

If I add my fiance to my cards as an authorized user, will this affect her credit also?

Second question.

If it does show on her reports, how do some creditors put it on there, because not all ask for a SSN?

Not necessarily, if they don't ask for a SS# whose report are they going to put the CC on? Anyone with the name Jane Doe?

That's what I don't get.  I guess they could match up the name with an address or something, but I'm not sure how much effort they put into it. 

Anyone have a defininte answer?

I am interested to know myself. Even with a name and address the CRA's could stick the account on a different person than your fiance's report.

i dont' know how exactly they do it.

I thought it was based on address, but i have added friends to my credit cards to help them rebuild and it shows up on there credit right away with no social.

we have had a thread that talked about this extensively in the past.

amex asks for social but not many others do.

Thanks for clearing that up.  I added her to my AMEX and they asked for a social security number, but most others don't.

Added a cousin to my 15 year old CAP ONE account, they didnt ask for the SSN, but i insisted they take it down for reporting purposes. His score jumped up from a 627,650,635 to 700 plus in all 3, in less then 30 days,. Needless to say, he's very greatful. Oh and yeah, got them to deliver the CC to my address, and i activated and destroyed it..just to be on the safer side . MYFICO.COM ex-719 eq-711 tu-758
