Hey Gang!
I have a (potentially silly) question and couldn't seem to find an answer via search.
Yesterday I woke up to an alert from my wife's 'Creditwise' service from her Capital One account.
Apparently her mom forgot to pay her Kohl's card off (my wife is an AU on the card) - there was a 30 day late notice...
I had her call her mom immediately. Her mom said she'd go to Kohl's last night to ask them to have it removed from the credit reports.
She talked with someone at Kohl's and they agreed they'd send info to the CRA's that the late payment was erroneous. They assured her it would be removed from all reports.
Immediately after that, she asked to remove my wife as an AU.
My question is: Will that be reversed on my wife's reports as well?
I might be thinking of this wrong but I'm afraid that my wife's credit report is now 'unlinked' from the Kohl's account, thus any corrective information sent from Kohl's won't make it's way back to my wife's reports.
I hope my fear is inaccurate. Please tell me I'm wrong

regardless of how they end up reporting it, you should be able to dispute the tradeline and have it removed completely if need be
