AU's when the rules change?

What happens to your AU accounts already on your CBR ?  Do they just disappear?  Or will you be allowed to keep them for the 7-10 years?  I know you will still be an AU on the account but what impact will it have on your FICO?  Tks Vicki

Re: AU's when the rules change?

If and when the rules change, you will still be an AU, you'll be able to use the account as before, I understand that the account will still be listed on your CR, it just won't be factored in your FICO scores.

Although it does appear that several posters saw their AmEx AU accounts vanish from their credit reports --seems like about 2 1/2 weeks ago? It appears that AmEx decided to stop reporting the AU accounts. Presumably the cards still work--I think we would have heard the howls by now.

I was amazed to find that I am an AU on my 19-year-old's Gap card --I never even realized. It's not on any of my reports (which is good!)

I wonder if they are doing this a little at a time. My gf is an AU on my jetblue amex, and it still lists on her credit reports.

Re: AU's when the rules change?

I think (?) the original post was by oneloveforall, and it happened to Timothy's DW also. I never did find out for sure whether onelove's came back, but per Timothy, his DW's TL's stayed gone.

In general, I can handle businesses rearranging things every now and then, but you'd think they could a least send a generic e-mail or something. I just don't like surprises much at my age! Smiley Tongue Still haven't completely recovered from the bucket shocker.

Re: AU's when the rules change?

Yep- AMEX AU still gone from all 3.
WAMU AU is still on EX and TU (Don't think WAMU reports AU's to EQ

The AMEX AU dropped about the same time so I think AMEX did it. She still uses her card. I have not done a product change or anything else to the acct.
