I have 6 active CC's currently with an AAOA of 2 years. Still waiting for Discover to post and today I was approved for a Wal Mart Discover Card? Should I keep this Subprime card? They gave me my second highest cl at 1.8k. Are there any thoughts on the Wal Mart Card? how will the reporting of my Discover More and the Wal Mart Discover affect my AAOA? thanks in advance

It depends how old your other cards are ~ but I think that it will probably show on your credit reports regardless of whether you activate it or not.

I have a regular Walmart Card and I use it regulary and have run up toward the limit, and this week i called in and got my limit raised from $300 to $500. GE is a great & generous lender. Since you have a Walmart Discover, that's even better because you can use it anywhere normal Discover is accecpted. So if i were you I would keep it, and remember to use it at least for a small purchase once every 3 months to keep it active & pay in full and GE will show you some love as well in the near feature hopefully!

I dont really think this card is subprime. Its a pretty decent card and GE with excellent with CLI. If you were approved for the card (apping in store) then you already got the inq; therefore you should activate it. Your AAoA will decrease a little bit depending on the age of the other accounts. (I had 2 years of history and just got 2 new cards. AAoA went to 1 yr 8 months). It will recover once the cards start to age. The good thing is that once they start reporting your UTIL will go down

you have paid the price, you took the INQ, you will have a new tradeline show up. Whether you activate or not the damage is done, There is no AF no reason to close it, best to activate though you don't want Walmart/GE thinking its strange that you didn't activate your card. Use the card even if its just a pack of gum or what ever. If you use the card GE is quite friendly wth CLI's call and request every 4-5 statements and the card will grow, in a couple years it will easily be 4-5k CL I really don't see the downside. You can also walk into Walmarts and get $40-60 over your purchase in cash, Hi CL's breed high TL's.
If closing someone is what we are talking about here, I´d rather keep the Wallmart Discover and chop down the Discover More. . . whether you close it or know, there´s no going around. Your aaoa will drop either way. Activate it and use it like your other Discover card. . . and congrats ^^!
Why take the HP/INQ to your score, if you do not want to activate the card?
This is logic that simply escapes me.
Keep the card and treat it well and it will open the door to more GE products for you in the future.
TY all I will keep the card. I only wanted the card for what i though was a free ex fico score, I don't consider Trans that valuable since I've found that most CC's I've appliied for check Ex and Eq. I was also thinking that since i have not activated the card it won't mess up my AAOA by not activating it. Non the less I will keep the card and use it well. Thanks again all for the posts.
