This is nice!!! I called as well in regards to my fully secured card and the CSR I spoke to was helpful. She informed me that she was going to convert it to the 123 rewards card or put in the request. She did say that my old account would be closed and a new one would appear on my CRs. The history would remain on the card and would not affect the graduation cycle or process. Also she said I could choose between the regular rewards card or the cash back. I chose the cash back. I did not ask if there would be a credit pull since it appeared as all they were going to do is convert it. If there is a credit pull from them on my reports I will update this. Thanks!

Wow, how long have you had the card?  I'm past the six month on mine, if it doesn't reset the graduation clock, and there's no pull associated with it, I'm all over that card.  I was mostly planning to sockdrawer it after it graduated and I opened up a longer-term card at the end of the year, but if I can get even a trivial rewards package with it, it'd get promoted to pretty much solo card for quite a while.

Any information you guys could let me know would be extremely appreciated, thanks for posting this!

I have had this card since Jan of this year. I did not expect Bofa to be this generous if you will. This is awesome!

Thanks you guys for the info I never would have known they would switch the cards. My only question is what backdoor number did you call to get the option to switch to the accelerated rewards? I called today and talked to two reps that told me there is no option to convert a fully secured card to the AR. Is this the card you converted fully secured?

Re: Add 1-2-3 Rewards to a BOA Secured Card

I called (888) 260-4696. I followed the prompts to speak to a rep. I believe the reps name was Trixy or Tracy?? I can't remember but she did say that this is new and a minimum CL of $5000. She did say that they offer other ones with lower limits but I chose this one because it had the best cash back options compared to the rest of the Amex's.

Re: Add 1-2-3 Rewards to a BOA Secured Card

Just called the other backdoor number(first one isn't serviced on weekends). Getting changed to a 1-2-3 rewards and the lady confirmed it won't reset your history or graduation time(good because i'll be able to graduate it in 7-8 weeks). I had begun to wonder if it was possible to get your secured card PC to rewards when i heard of people getting secured rewards cards offers on denial. Glad to know it is possible!

But 2-4 Weeks Smiley Frustrated.

Re: Add 1-2-3 Rewards to a BOA Secured Card

Question for everyone who's gotten switched so far: what was your utilization like, primarily on the BOFA card?

I'm sitting at something like 1300/2000 on mine currently, and while that's going to get airstruck within two weeks, I'm sort of wondering how long BOFA is going to have this offer for and am debating if I should just call in on Monday anyway.

My BofA card had a 0 util% at the time of graduation/PC to 123. My card was fully secured, with a $500 limit. I used my card here and there and always PIF, almost as soon as charges posted. The CSR was able to see the usage and payment patterns and said she was impressed. I told her it was to maximize FICO score and mentioned I was a member of this forum, she said she was familiar with it 😉.

Re: Add 1-2-3 Rewards to a BOA Secured Card

In my case I have not carried a balance so far with this card. I have been paying in full since I got it. I am currently at 60% util on this card when I requested the rewards. Hope this helps.
