@ grillandwinemaster.sorry about your cell phone account, hope you didn't give her a cellphone to.
The AU accounts will more likely stay on her CR if the two of you are living together... The CRA's will remove AU accounts if they do not think they are legit. I am sure you are also going to only add her on accounts at least two years old. The older the better. Apart from Amex most AU accounts will be back dated. Amex BCP/EDP can make a good shared card for grocery spend, etc.

Have you experienced this with any particular bank? Or all of them are like that because it is up to the CRAs?
Friend was asking about adding his gf who goes to college out of state and is living in a dorm and using that address.

I have never had any AU's. If I wanted to get someone started with credit, I would loan them money for a a pair of secured CC's and a SSL. I would be surprised if the AU will show up for the gf. Perhaps she could use his address for one of her CCCs. Wait for the address to report to the CRA's. Then add her as an AU. Another option would be a joint account of some type. Although, I wouldn't recommend a joint credit account.
It all goes back many years. People were selling AU accounts to strangers. You could pay a stranger to add you to their old, perfect payment CC. The CRA's wanted to simply disallow AU accounts on CRs. There was a good bit of blow back and they backed off. Instead, they now the CRA's try to weed out illegitimate AU accounts. We do not know all of the factors they use, but a good guess would be last names, relations via public record searches and living at the same address.
PS. This year there were a few threads about AU accounts being deleted from one CRA (EQ?). You should be able to find several threads also from married couples complaining about AU accounts not showing up for CCC's that are known to report. It is rare for married couples to not have AU accounts reporting, but it does happen.
