@ksant, it depends on the lenders' policies. Some lenders, such as Chase, do not take into consideration any AU history. Whether they are able to tell the accounts are AU depends on how their systems are set up, but the info is there with the CRAs.

I would just like to add him to a card of mine to help boost his scores. Ideally I would like to app for all his stuff before the year ends so by this time next year the Inq's wont be hurting when we get ready to apply for a house. I am in the garden (again) and hope to stay that way for some time. My final HP will be to join the CU.
He has a lot of baddies to work so the only "rush" to improve his score is to app bf the year ends. I feel fairly certain that he could get a CapOne with a $300 or $500 CL right now. I got my first one at a 568. I'd rather wait until his scores are a little better so maybe his would start with a higher CL.
Child support will NEVER report on credit reports unless it's late... so child support is NOT a good thing for lenders to see on credit report. Therefore he has nothing positive on his credit report as of right now FYI. If he tells you otherwise he's wrong
When I was paying child support for my oldest son it was on my CR and it was all completely good standing. I had never been late.. They reported it every month. Then when I pulled my CR in May (he had turned 18) the whole line was gone.
I pulled his reports myself and his CS shows as a positive 'pays as agreed' account. His CS IS helping his credit.

Not true at all. Every state is different and every county in every state has different policies.
